Upcoming Dated Events

MAY 9: This is the correct date. (See announcement page)           The H.E.Y. parents' informational and support group meeting wlll be held at 7:00pm on May 9 at Virginia Bible Chapel.  The topic for the month is: Summer, When School is Out(doors) We will talk about learning opportunities that are uniquely available in the summertime! If you have any fun science, art, craft or social studies ideas for capitalizing on the great outdoors during our short summer season, please feel free to share them!

MAY 10:  HOMESCHOOL TALENT SHOW! The show will  be held at the McDavitt Town Hall at 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 10.  Contact Carol as soon as possible if you would like your child(ren) to be part of this.

May 17: The HEY graduation ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 17, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Midway (Virginia).

May 22:  On Thursday, May 22, we have reservations for an 11:20 tour at Fort Snelling and a 1:45 tour at the Henry Sibley House. The first tour will be 1½ hours long and the second will be 1 hour. We should be back on the road by 3:00. The ticket costing $8 per person covers both tours.   Children ages 5 and under are free. A group of ten paying people is needed for this tour. Please let Yvette know if you are interested in attending.

CERAMICS CLASS                                                                                       Lynn's Ceramic Shop is offering special home school classes in the Art of Ceramics on Fridays 10am -12 noon and/or 1-3pm.  Classes are held at Lynn’s shop located in Gilbert.  They are limited to twelve persons each session. $1.00 per person, plus cost of project, firings, paint, brushes & misc. to complete project. Prices of projects vary from 25 cents to around six dollars, depending on the item you choose.  If your interested in participating or getting more information please contact Lynn at 749-0905.
